How to use the WAVEiii WAVEiii Demo website

How to...

  1. On the home page, look for the "Create your account" button. It looks like this:
  2. Click that button to go to the sign-up page. Complete the sign-up form and submit it to create your account. All fields are required.
  3. A confirmation email will be sent to you. Follow the instructions in the email to verify your information and complete the sign-up process.
  4. If you don't see the verification email check your 'junk' folder. If you still don't see it within 24 hours send a help request via the contact page.
  1. At the top of the home page, look for the Sign in button in the navigation bar.
  2. Enter the name.surname combination that forms your unique WAVEiii Demo email address.
  3. Depending on your event and organization, you may have to enter your entire email address.
  4. Once you sign in you will see some options:
  5. Enter new results View your current results Edit your profile
  1. Sign in.
  2. Click the Add new activity button to go to your activity entry page.
  3. The navigation bar will also show a new option: My Results.
  4. Select Add new.
  5. You can enter your distances in metric or imperial units, but all distances will be converted to kilometers.

Distance Activities

    These are activities whose total distance can be measured.

  1. Select the Distance activities button
  2. Select your actvity.
  3. Click the date field and then select the date of your activity.
  4. Enter your distance and select your unit of measurement: Kms, Miles, Meters, Yards or Steps
  5. The green button will show you what you've just entered so you can correct it if necessary.
  6. If everything looks ok, click the button.
  7. Or choose the < Go back & make corrections button to go back.

Timed activities

    These are activities whose duration can be measured (but not distance).

  1. Select the Timed activities button
  2. Select your activity.
  3. Select the date field and then from the calendar select the date of your activity.
  4. Select the hours and minutes you spent in your activity.
  5. The green button will show you what you've just entered so you can correct it if necessary.

Use your Fitbit

    If you have a FitBit device you can sync your account with your WAVEiii event.

  1. The first time you use this feature you must identify yourself with FitBit. Select the Sync my account now button and sign in to FitBit using your FitBit username and password.
  2. You will then be directed back to your WAVEiii event.
  3. Select the Use my FitBit account button.
  4. Select the date of your activity from the calendar. Your FitBit steps for that day are then retrieved from the FitBit site. Note: only complete days before the current day are available.
  5. Once your data is retrieved, click the Back to Player Results button.

Use your Strava account

    If you use Strava you can sync your account with your WAVEiii event.

  1. The first time you use this feature you must identify yourself with Strava. Select the Sync my account now button and sign in to Strava using your username and password. If you are already signed in you should see a form that lets Strava know you give WAVEiii permission to access some of your data.
  2. You will then be directed back to your WAVEiii event.
  3. Select the Use my Strava account button.
  4. Select the date of your Strava activity from the calendar. If you have any activities for that date your total distance and activity type(s) will be retrieved from Strava and added to your WAVEiii Demo totals.

Anyone who is not already part of a team can start a team of their own.

If you start a team, you will be the Team Leader and it will be up to you to manage the team.

Create your team

  1. After you sign in, choose Teams info from the My Results menu.
  2. On the teams page, look for the Start a New Team button
  3. To confirm, select the green Start a new team button.
  4. Pick a name. Every team must have a name.
  5. Confirm your team name.
  6. Invite people to join by clicking the Invite team members button.

Add players

  1. To find teammates, use the search form to find them. Enter only the last name of the person you are looking for.
  2. From the results, only people with the sign are available (they are not on a team yet).
  3. Click the to see details for an available person.
  4. If this is the person you want, click the big green button to invite them to join your team.
  5. The next time they login they will see your invitation to join your team, and they can accept or decline.

If you want to be on a team but do not want to start your own, you must be invited.

Only Team Leaders can invite people to join their team, but you can ask to join a team first.

Ask to join a team:

  1. Visit any team page. Look for the Join this team button.
  2. If you are signed in, you will see a join request form.
  3. Fill out the form to send your request to the Team Lead.
  4. If the Team Lead invites you to join their team, you will see a notification the next time you sign in. You will also see one on your profile page and in the Your Profile column of the site footer on every page.
  5. Go to your profile page and select either I Accept! or No thanks

You may only be on one team at a time.

If you forget your password, you can always reset it. There are 2 ways to do this:

When signing in

  1. If you enter an incorrect password when trying to sign in, you will see a message asking if you have forgotten your password. Click this button and follow the instructions on the Password Reset page.

Use the link in the footer

  1. In the Athlete Profile column of the footer, the 'I forgot my password' link will also take you to the reset page.
